OUR MISSION

Improving cycling safety through education, awareness, and advocacy.

The Rob Dollar Foundation exists to improve cyclist safety across Arizona through education, awareness, and advocacy.

Working with local officials, organizations, and community partners, the foundation supports initiatives designed to create safer roadways and strengthen protections for cyclists.

The foundation’s efforts focus on increasing awareness of safe riding and driving practices while supporting policies and programs that improve conditions for cyclists at the city and state level.

ROAD SAFETY

Road safety is the foundation’s primary focus.

In Phoenix, there have been over 450 bicycle-involved collisions each year for the past five years. The Rob Dollar Foundation is committed to helping make roadways safer for cyclists, starting with high-risk areas like South Mountain Park, where Rob’s fatal accident occurred.

In collaboration with the City of Phoenix, the Police Department, and South Mountain Park officials, the foundation is working on a long-term initiative to implement safety measures along the main scenic road. These efforts include improved signage, convex traffic mirrors, and other visibility enhancements designed to reduce risk and improve visibility for both drivers and cyclists.

SAFETY AWARENESS

Improving cyclist safety isn’t just about infrastructure—it starts with awareness.

Many bicycle-related accidents can be prevented through better education, increased visibility, and a clearer understanding of how cyclists and drivers share the road. From helmet use to visibility strategies and safe riding practices, small actions can make a life-saving difference.

Across Arizona, gaps in awareness and prevention efforts continue to put cyclists at risk. Strengthening public understanding of road safety is a critical step in reducing bicycle-related injuries and fatalities.

The Rob Dollar Foundation works to expand access to bicycle safety education, support community awareness initiatives, and encourage safer habits for both cyclists and drivers across Arizona.

ADVOCACY

Safer roads don’t happen through awareness alone—they require action.

While bicycle laws are designed to protect cyclists, consistent enforcement and public understanding remain ongoing challenges. Strengthening how these laws are applied—and how they are understood—is critical to improving safety on Arizona roadways.

The Rob Dollar Foundation supports efforts that promote safer cycling conditions through collaboration with local officials, law enforcement, and community partners. By encouraging stronger education, improved enforcement practices, and increased awareness of cyclists’ rights and responsibilities, the foundation works to help create lasting change.

Through advocacy and community engagement, the foundation aims to support policies and initiatives that reduce cyclist risk and improve safety for everyone who shares the road.

A SHARED RESPONSIBILITY

Cyclist safety is a shared responsibility—one that depends on awareness, action, and a commitment to protecting every life on the road.

Through education, infrastructure improvements, and advocacy, the Rob Dollar Foundation continues to work toward safer roadways across Arizona. Every effort—whether it’s increasing visibility, improving enforcement, or expanding access to safety education—plays a role in preventing accidents and saving lives.

Together, cyclists, drivers, and communities can create a safer environment for everyone who shares the road.

Because safer roads shouldn’t be a goal—they should be the standard.
