Beyman has focused his career on disability issues, documenting stories of disabled people and their families across the world and in Canada, for the last 15 years. Mark has received over 50 grants from various agencies, including the City of Toronto, the Ontario Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts, in order to produce documentaries. He is a founding member of Artslink, a non-profit arts access service agency, which focuses on highlighting the positive contributions to Toronto made by people with disabilities, as well as the positive experience of people with disabilities living in Toronto. He is also the Executive Producer of DisabilityNow!, a documentary featuring eleven Canadian youth with disabilities. Mark is the only filmmaker ever to have won three Gemini Awards: Best Director for Adaptive for Access to Sight, Best Documentary for A Sickness unto Death and Best Documentary for Stolen on the Air. His film Stolen on the Air was nominated for Best Picture at the Toronto International Film Festival.
